FAQ

What is the difference between the Deluxe and Hybrid Roof Racks?

The Hybrid is our more economical option, it is basically the shell of the Deluxe, they look almost identical but the Hybrid does not have the Honeycomb mesh flooring, instead we made special dipped cross bars that allow you to add wood planks that are hardly visible unless you climb on top and look closely.

Both racks come with a free wind deflector ($350 Value) which is an absolute must have to cut down the wind noise.

Both of our racks were designed for easier at home install.

Other racks sell for $2900-3500 not including the wind deflector. At $1290 for the Hybrid and $1988 for the Deluxe we are by far the most economical option on the market.

How much weight can the rack hold?

The NV roof itself is rated for 500lbs but when you distribute the weight on the mounting points it can easily handle 1000+ lbs.

Will the Roof Rack and other accessories fit on my Nissan NV?

Our accessories will fit on any Standard Roof Nissan NV because they are all the same regardless of the year or model 1500, 2500, 3500, HD, SL etc…

The mounting points and measurements are the same on all Standard Roof Nissan NV’s. The measurements only change for the Ladders and Roof Racks on the High Roof NV.

What material are the accessories made in?

All of accessories are of carbon steel, which far more durable than aluminum, plus a lot more economical. On average our competitors accessories are double or triple our cost.

Will it Rust?

All of our accessories are made of steel which can rust but they are all expertly powder coated and with a bit of maintenance these accessories will last a lifetime.

How do I touch up rusty spots on my TXRax running boards or roof rack?

Rust may appear in small areas over time, especially in weld points or surface scratches. Here’s a quick DIY method to restore and protect your TxRax steel accessories:

1. For Small Cracks & Weld Crevices:

  • Product: Black JB Weld Silicone (approx. $7 on Amazon)
  • Prep: None needed
  • Application: Dab directly into any small cracks or exposed welds. Once sealed, it blocks moisture and stops rust from forming.

2. For Scratches or Nicks in the Powder Coat:

  • Step 1: Lightly sand the affected area using 320-grit sandpaper
  • Step 2: Apply a rust encapsulator as your base coat
  • Step 3: Top it off with a metallic black spray paint to match the original gloss

Pro Tip:

Avoid spraying directly onto the rack or boards — that can get messy fast. Instead, spray your paint onto a piece of cardboard, then dab it onto the area using a sponge, foam brush, or even a folded paper towel.

Our powder coating has a gritty texture, not a smooth finish — so dabbing the paint helps match the original look much more naturally.
